Wildcat Ready
We are happy to announce that the Columbus Junction Public Library is a part of the 1000 Books before Kindergarten program! The purpose of this program is to better prepare young children to enter a learning environment. Considering children under the age of five aren't usually able to read books the success the program will have on your child depends greatly on your involvement as a parent/guardian.
Monthly Wildcat Ready activities have been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We look forward to resuming soon when we can all gather safely again!Milestones to reach:
- At every 100 books logged, child will receive a certificate and their picture will be posted to the CJPL Facebook page.
- Every five books logged will be equivalent to one “Book Buck” redeemable for prizes from our Wildcat Chest.
- At 500 logged books, child will receive medal along certificate
- At 1000 books (completion of program) child will receive a free t-shirt
Logging books is as easy as recording what book was read to the child on the provided “Wildcat Ready” sheet or by downloading the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten app. Sheet is to be turned into the library for logging.
Happy Reading!
