Friends of CJPL

The Friends of the Columbus Junction Public Library is a not for profit organization, dedicated to enhancing the library's holdings and services to the community as well as assisting the library in achieving strategic plan goals and overall mission. The Friends provide financial support for Library programs, materials, electronics, and any other identified needs as well as volunteering to execute specific programs and activities. The goal of the Friends is to expand library resources and to promote the Columbus Junction Public Library throughout the community.

Current Board members Lana Todd, Mandy Grimm, and Stella Best. Meetings are held periodically throughout the year, with one membership drive in the fall. Anyone is able to join the Friends of the Library, and any interest in volunteering through the Friends is welcomed as well. Please contact the library for membership information or volunteer opportunities.

Last year (2024), the Friends supported programs including summer reading programs, CJ MakerBoxes, Winter Wonderland at Roundy, Putnam Museum Passes, the installation of our Smart Locker System (coming October 2024!!!), cemetery walks, historical/sesquicentennial programming, book club, author visits, and other special events.
