Services
The Columbus Junction Public Library is a Tier-3 accredited library in the State of Iowa, and its director is certified at the Silver Level. The library provides the following services:
Physical and digital collections - physical items for check out in library, and ebook/audiobook content available on Libby
Interlibrary loan - borrowing items from other libraries
Open Access - providing physical materials to anyone living in the state of Iowa, despite where they live/pay taxes
Computers & wifi - available on site and for checkout with Chromebooks and wifi hot spots
Reference services -
1. Schedule a 1 hour appointment with library staff for assistance with: citizenship paperwork and study, permanent resident card paperwork, work visa paperwork, Medicaid applications, food stamps, passports/travel documents, or Social Security.
2. Schedule a 15 minute technology appointment with library staff to get started with: job applications, unemployment applications, weekly unemployment reporting, or for computer/phone assistance. Staff are also able to help you get started on travel visa requirements and/or travel arrangements. If you need additional assistance or more in-depth assistance with job seeking services, please contact Iowa Works in Iowa City at 319-351-1035.
3. Please note: library staff are not lawyers or tax professionals; we are unable to answer any questions related to legal paperwork and/or the Iowa efile system (please consult your attorney) or tax preparation (please consult a tax preparer).
4. For all business related questions, please contact ISU Extension and speak with the Louisa Development Group Director, who is best prepared to answer any business related questions! The LDG director can be reached at 319-523-2371.
5. For any other needs or questions, please ask staff and we will try to provide information or referrals to assist with your specific needs.
Summer Reading, reading contests
Programming for all ages
Proctoring - please call or email at least 24 hours in advance to confirm a date, time, and communicate your specific needs in the testing room (technology available, nothing in the room, etc)
Genealogy collection and databases
Scan/Email services - fax is unfortunately unavailable, but we are able to scan and email with no charge
Meeting Rooms - available for all types of meetings, please call for reservations at least 24 hours in advance.
